Georgia Power has requested a Utility Easement over City-owned property at Wheaton Street (PIN 2-0013 -07-001) for the purposes of installing a power pole and overhead electrical distribution line.  The impact to the City parcel (park site) and Right-of-way is minimal. The new electric service is needed for development of an adjoining site named "The Cove at Dundee", a Tiny Homes Project for Homeless Veterans, developed by the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless.  Link to a local news story: https://www.wjcl.com/article/tiny-homes-for-big-heroes-the-project-helping-homeless-veterans/26032368.

The “Easement Area” is defined as any portion of the Property located within fifteen (15) feet of the centerline of the overhead distribution line(s) as installed in the approximate location shown on the attached Exhibit “A”. The proposed easement would allow installation of an overhead distribution line, a pole and anchor, and underground distribution lines. This easement solely gives Georgia Power access to install, maintain, and repair said equipment and does not convey any land.

This request has been reviewed and approved by Development Services, Public Works and Water Resources, Greenscapes Division, and by Real Estate Services.
