The purpose of the City Manager's Emerging Leader Academy is to assist employees in building a foundation of leadership fundamentals necessary for advancement. This program provided the selected employees from various departments with an introduction to City of Savannah leadership and professional development skills to aid with career growth. Each employee attended and completed in-depth training sessions from September to December 2023, and participated in professional development seminars designed to prepare employees for professional growth and future leadership potential. Each participant was assigned a City of Savannah executive leadership mentor and was provided with the opportunity to build an overall strong foundation for personal leadership.
