12. Motion to Abandon and Release a Prescriptive Utility Easement at 401 Wheeler Street (Petition No. 170359)

Alan Lipsitz, property owner, is requesting that the City of Savannah formally abandon, release, and quitclaim 10 feet of a 20-foot prescriptive drainage easement located behind his residence at 401 Wheeler Street (PIN 2-0142-11-018) for the purpose of erecting a privacy fence.  This petition has been reviewed by Development Services, the Bureau of Public Works and Water Resources, and Real Property Services.  The following conditions are recommended:

  • The storm line located along the western property line of 401 Wheeler Street shall not be disturbed.
  • The 10-foot utility easement along the western property shall not be infringed upon.
