Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

Memorial Health University Medical Center (Memorial Health) CEO, Shayne George, and Memorial Board member and former Savannah Assistant City Manager, Israel G. Small, are presenting a $30,000 donation to the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah for deposit into the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund. This donation, part of Memorial Health’s commitment to the Fund, marks the second year that Memorial Health has invested in the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund.  These contributions will provide the down payment necessary to help modest wage Memorial Health employees purchase their first home in the city of Savannah.  These crucial investments provide tangible results for both Memorial Health and the City of Savannah.  Officials from the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund Advisory Committee and the Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. (CHSA) will also be participating in the presentation.  None of the funds will be used for administrative purposes. The City of Savannah Housing and Neighborhood Services Department and the Community Housing Services Agency, Inc., a non-profit housing corporation, oversee the SAHF administration.  A motion to formally accept this donation appears in the resolution section of the Agenda.
