The Georgia Department of Transportation has revised the City of Savannah’s radar authorization. City Council adoption of changes to the master list of streets and highways are required for enforcement. Changes previously approved by the Mayor and Aldermen are included in the new permit.

Adoption of the radar permit allows the Savannah Police Department the use of RADAR and LIDAR to enforce posted speed limits on State Routes and City streets within the corporate limits of Savannah.

Recommend adoption of the revised authorization in order to provide for the use of RADAR and LIDAR by the Savannah Police Department in the enforcement of posted speed limits on State Routes and City streets.
