Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for purchase of chlorine and hydrofluosilicic (HFS) acid from Savannah Brush and Chemical Company in the amount of $186,600. The Public Works and Water Resources Department uses HFS acid to treat groundwater to state and local drinking water standards. The chlorine is used for disinfection of harmful pathogens. HFS acid is used to add fluoride to drinking water. This contract was originally approved on March 26, 2020. This is the first of three renewal options. L.B. Savannah Brush and Chemical, Inc.
