Title 23. Motion to Adopt Resolution Supporting Grant Application to the 2018 Historic Preservation Grant Fund Program
Description This resolution authorizes the City of Savannah to apply for a $30,000.00 grant from the State of Georgia Historic Preservation Division under the 2018 Historic Preservation Grant Fund program. The City of Savannah had acquired a dilapidated historic two-story structure at 2205 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, which has been conveyed to the Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) through the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority. Grant and required matching funds will be used by HSF to make structural improvements, including installation of a new roof. The HSF will provide the City of Savannah with the required $20,000 grant matching funds if the grant is awarded to the City. The Historic Preservation Grant Fund program is only available to local governments. If the grant is awarded, the City will enter into an agreement with HSF that allows it to use the above referenced funds for the work described herein. There is no cost to the City.
