Police Headquarters Building, Located at 201 Habersham Street, with Johnson-Laux (LOCAL, DBE) in the Amount Not to Exceed $7,800,000. Renovations will include window replacement, replacement of the HVAC system, new flooring, installation of new IT infrastructure, repainting, and other repairs to both the building's envelope and interior. Description

This contract is for renovations to the Police Headquarters building with Johnson-Laux (LOCAL, DBE) in the amount not to exceed $7,800,000. The Police Headquarters renovation project will renovate the building at 201 Habersham Street. The work includes both building envelope repairs and interior renovations. The building envelope repairs include replacing the windows, complete replacement of the HVAC system, repointing portions of the exterior brick, and adding insulation to the exterior wall. The interior repairs include asbestos and lead abatement, new flooring, new IT infrastructure, creation of new office space, replacement of light fixtures to LED fixtures, upgrading the hot water system, replacing the ceiling tile, and dated wall treatments, and new painting.


The State of Georgia’s job order contract will be used to perform this project to meet time constraints and City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia’s job order contract is considered a convenience contract that is available for use by all State, City, and County public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide multi-traded general construction services to accomplish small to medium-sized projects for repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation, renovation, and minor new construction to infrastructure, buildings, structures, or other real property. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select contractors to perform these services for projects.

A pre-proposal meeting was not conducted as these goods are being procured through the use of a state contract agreement. (A) Indicates local, DBE business.
