Title Motion to Renew Annual Contract and Approve Contract Modification No. 1 for Traffic Signal Construction with Hoffman Electric (Event No. 5019) | |
Description Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 and a renewal of the annual contract for traffic signal construction with Hoffman Electric in the amount of $350,000.00. This contract is used by the Traffic Engineering Department for various traffic signal construction throughout the City. This renewal includes a contract modification that is needed to expedite the construction of the new traffic signal installation at Jimmy DeLoach Parkway and Highlands Boulevard. Additionally, this contract modification includes construction costs for various projects slated to take place in the coming year, such as the installation of pedestrian flashers on Drayton and Whitaker streets, the traffic signal upgrade at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Oglethorpe Avenue, the signal pole installation at Benton Boulevard and Godley Way, and any necessary repairs of traffic signal strain poles or street light poles damaged in vehicular accidents. Bids were originally received on March 28, 2017. Notifications were sent to all known vendors, and one response was received. The contract was originally approved by City Council on April 27, 2017, in the amount of $96,132.16.00. This is the first of two renewal options. The contract term will be from December 7, 2017 to December 31, 2018. The amount of this modification is $253,867.84, making the yearly total contract amount $350,000.00. The contractor is honoring the unit pricing as bid in the original event. | |
