AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND DIVISION II, PART 2, GOVERNMENT

AND ADMINISTRATION, CHAPTER 4, FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION,

ARTICLE E, PROCUREMENT, DIVISION 2, OFFICE OF THE PURCHASING

AGENT, SECTION 2-4053, AWARDS, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SAVANNAH, GEORGIA TO ADJUST THE CITY MANAGER’S AUTHORITY TO EXECUTE

CERTAIN CONTRACTS; TO PROVIDE FOR EFFECTIVE DATES; TO REPEAL

ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah, Georgia, in regular meeting of Council assembled and pursuant to the lawful authority thereof:

SECTION 1:            That Part 2, Government and Administration, Chapter 4, Financial Administration, Article E. Procurement, Division 2, Office of the Purchasing Agent, Section 2-5043, Awards, of the Code of the City of Savannah be deleted in its entirety and a new Section 2-5043 be inserted in lieu thereof as follows:

            Sec. 2-5043.  Awards.

            Except as otherwise provided in this article, all contracts exceeding $50,000.00 for procurement of supplies, services, equipment and construction shall be awarded only after authorization of the award has been given by the mayor and aldermen. Except as otherwise provided in this article, all contracts of $50,000.00 or less shall be awarded only after authorization has been given by the city manager.

SECTION 2:            All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
