Description Representatives from the Center for Jubilee, Reconciliation and Healing will be on hand to receive a proclamation that declares December 21, 2018, as "Jubilee Freedom Day" in Savannah. This important day is significant to the cultural heritage of the City of Savannah. This day celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Africans on December 21, 1864. The Center for Jubilee, Reconciliation and Healing is the host of the second national exhibit, "Slaves in the City," on December 21, 2018, which pays homage to their contributions to American history. | |
