82. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Water and Sewer Agreement with the City of Bloomingdale for the Purchase of Wholesale Water and Sewer
Strategic Priority
Infrastructure
Description

The City of Bloomingdale has requested a revision to the June 5, 2007 Water and Sewer Agreement. The original Water and Sewer Agreement provided for the wholesale purchase of water and sewer at the Savannah/Bloomingdale border along Little Neck Road. The original Agreement provided that wholesale services were limited to 320,000 gallons per day and were limited to the municipal boundaries of the City of Bloomingdale that lay south of I-16.  Bloomingdale has requested that wholesale services be increased to a maximum of 1,000,000 gallons per day and allow for Bloomingdale to extend the water services only, to the north side of I-16. The water and sewer systems have adequate capacity to meet the terms of this agreeement. The agreement is consistent with policy directives given by the Mayor and Aldermen and has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney for legal format. There is no cost to the City of Savannah to modify this Agreement as requested by the City of Bloomingdale.
