Title 15. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute Contract Amendment No. 1 with Hodges, Harbin, Newberry, & Tribble, Inc. for Miscellaneous Water Line Improvements in the Amount of $91,160 (Event No. 3810)
Strategic Priority N/A
Description Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 with Hodges, Harbin, Newberry, & Tribble, Inc. for miscellaneous water line improvements along Louisville Road in the amount of $91,160. The original contract was for design, bidding services, construction services, and close out services related to water line removal and replacement on Louisville Road, Perry Street, Washington Avenue, and Augusta Avenue. Due to higher than anticipated construction costs, the Louisville Road waterline was not built. The proposed project includes site survey, revised project design and permitting, project bidding, construction administration, inspection, and close-out services. The new twelve inch diameter waterline will replace an aging six inch waterline, thereby providing better water pressure for fire protection and increased system reliability. Sufficient funds currently remain in the previous design and construction overview budget to offset the cost of this amendment. This contract was originally approved by Council on February 18, 2016 in the amount of $326,013. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment is $417,173.
