Title Motion to Rezone Portion of 701 Montgomery Street from R-B-C-1 to B-C (Petitioner Josh Yellin for Lookin Good Properties)
Description The Mayor and Aldermen approved this rezoning request (File No. 17-003908-ZA) following a zoning hearing at the Council Meeting of August 17, 2017. The action being considered now is the approval of the ordinance to rezone portion of 701 Montgomery Street from R-B-C-1 to B-C. The petitioner, Lookin Good Properties, is requesting approval to rezone a portion of a property located at 701 Montgomery Street from an R-B-C-1 (Residential Business Conservation Extended) zoning classification to a B-C (Community Business) zoning classification. The subject site is owned by the City of Savannah and the agent is Josh Yellin, Attorney at Law. The petitioned site is a portion of a larger site identified as PIN 2-0045-28-012. The majority of the subject site is presently zoned B-C and approval of the petitioner’s request would create a site with a unified zoning district instead of having split zoning. The Mayor and Aldermen approved a related text amendment (File No. 17-002242-ZA) on July 6, 2017 requested by the petitioner, Lookin Good Properties. That text amendment was regarding density, parking, bonus stories, and upper-story residential in the RIP-C, RIP-B-1, B-C, and B-G zoning districts.
