Title Motion to Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the Submission of the Continuum of Care (CoC) Application to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for FY 2017 Shelter Plus Care funding and to enter into agreements with the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless, Inc. as the Project Sponsor. | |
Description Shelter Plus Care is a program designed to provide housing and supportive services on a long-term basis for homeless persons with disabilities, primarily those with serious mental illnesses, chronic problems with alcohol and/or drugs, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or related diseases, and their families who are living in places not intended for human habitation (e.g., streets) or in emergency shelters. The grant is in the amount of $670,087 to implement a continuum of care supportive housing program known as the "Shelter Plus Care Program (54 Units) less $19,610, which is provided to the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless, Inc. for project sponsor administrative expenses for the following services: S+C program oversight, administration and reporting; the coordination of client services including client intake, eligibility, assessment and supportive services, and $20,609 in grantee administrative costs to be retained by the City of Savannah. The balance of funds, $629,868.00, is provided for tenant-based rental subsidies. | |
