Title Motion to Approve an Agreement with Environmental Services, Inc. for the Savannah Airport Commission/ Rookery Management Project. | |
Description The environmental assessment is required by the FAA and involves wetlands mitigation on airport property. The study will include habitat modification, which may include public scoping or hearings associated with the wading bird rookery related to the Wood Stork population which is considered a threatened species. The assessment will define the issues and outline the necessary steps to remove the rookery and provide guidance for the future wildlife management of similar situation. The amount of the assessment not to exceed $65,400.00. The contract approved in May 2017 was specific to a radio transmitter study of Wood Stork flight patterns and nesting habits performed by the University of Georgia as a mitigation requirement by the United States Fish and Wildlife Services. | |
