Notification of an emergency procurement of retrofitting services from Siemens Industries in the amount of $162,819.00. These services were used by the Industrial and Domestic Water Department to repair an existing variable frequency drive (VFD) unit that was significantly damaged by lightning at the Abercorn Creek Raw Water Station. The Abercorn Creek Raw Water Station has four VFDs which are needed to pump raw water. With this VFD inoperable, the station’s pumping capacity was down by 25%. Siemen’s was selected as it was the first vendor able to immediately respond.
