Motion to Procure Sole Source Consulting Services for the Springfield Canal Basin Model from Thomas and Hutton Engineering (Event No. 5381)
Recommend approval to procure consulting services from Thomas & Hutton Engineering in the amount of $82,500.00. The consulting services will be used by the Stormwater Management Department to update the City’s Springfield Canal basin hydraulic model. The information gathered will be used to calibrate the existing model following Hurricane Matthew, to size the canal through the Arena/Canal District area, and to address questions pursuant to GEMA HGMP grants for mitigation construction activities currently being reviewed by GEMA. This is a sole source because Thomas & Hutton Engineering exclusively has performed the modeling of the basin. Therefore, additional design by this vendor will not require duplication of design work.
