The City of Savannah's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) proudly celebrates the accomplishments of the 2026 Path Forward Cohort, whose participants have successfully completed an intensive eight-week work-readiness program as part of the City's 100 Days of Summer initiative.

Comprised of youth and young adults directly impacted by gun violence, the cohort spent the summer building the skills and confidence needed to achieve long-term success. Throughout the eight-week intensive, participants developed workplace readiness skills, strengthened emotional regulation and communication abilities, and engaged in meaningful job shadowing, career exploration, and educational planning experiences.

As they transition into the next phase of the Path Forward program, participants will spend the next 10 months working toward individualized goals outlined in their Success Plans. These plans focus on achieving sustainable employment, advancing educational opportunities, and strengthening emotional well-being through ongoing mentorship, support services, and personal development.

In recognition of the City's unwavering commitment to investing in their futures, the 2026 Path Forward Cohort will present a commemorative plaque to the Mayor and City Council as a token of appreciation. The presentation symbolizes the cohort's gratitude for the City's leadership, support, and belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to overcome adversity and build a brighter future.

The plaque serves not only as a gesture of thanks but also as a reminder of the life-changing impact that strategic investments in violence intervention, workforce development, and youth empowerment can have on individuals, families, and the Savannah community.
