SPECIAL CALLED MEETING FOR CONDUCTING A CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PERSONNEL

August 26, 2020 – 3:00 p.m.

The special called meeting of the City Council was held at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom communication, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PRESENT:  Mayor Van R. Johnson, II, Presiding

Alderwoman Kesha Gibson-Carter, At-Large, Post 1, Chairman

Alderwoman Alicia Miller Blakely, At-Large, Post 2

Alderwoman Bernetta B. Lanier, District 1

Alderman Detric Leggett, District  2

Alderwoman Linda Wilder-Bryan, District 3

Alderman Nick Palumbo, District 4, Vice-Chairman

Alderwoman Dr. Estella Edwards Shabazz, District 5, Mayor Pro-Tem

Alderman Kurtis Purtee, District 6

Mayor Johnson called the special called meeting to order at 3:13 p.m.

Mayor Pro-Tem Dr. Shabazz moved to close the special called meeting to conduct a closed executive session regarding personnel, Alderman Palumbo and Alderwoman Lanier seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

AGENDA ITEMS

1. Personnel, a discussion regarding candidates for the position of City Manager. (No action was taken.)

Mayor Pro-Tem Dr. Shabazz moved to exit the closed executive session and adjourn the meeting, Alderwoman Lanier seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Johnson adjourned the Special Called Meeting at 5:24 p.m.
