Description
The Savannah Airport Commission (SAC) has issued RFP 2025-0032 for the restoration of five aircraft hangar roofs, ranging in age from 15 to 20 years. Multiple inspections have confirmed the presence of roof leaks and visible signs of aging across the affected hangars. These conditions pose a threat to the structural integrity of the buildings and their contents. This proposal was not evaluated based on the lowest bid, and a committee evaluated the bids. The proposals were evaluated through a scoring process, and according to the evaluation criteria, the lowest bid did not achieve the highest overall score. This restoration project will address these issues by repairing and upgrading the roofing systems to ensure long-term durability. Each restored roof will include a 15-year warranty. This project is included in the capital budget. While the initial allocation was $150,000, staff is requesting approval of $275,000 to complete all necessary restoration work within the current fiscal year. The due date for the bids was July 18, 2025, and a total of six (6) bids were received.
