Title 18. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute Contract Modification No. 1 with Thomas & Hutton for the Savannah Port Authority Park Water and Sewer Design in the Amount of $216,770 (Event No. 7299)
Strategic Priority N/A
Description Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute contract modification No. 1 with Thomas & Hutton for the Savannah Port Authority (SPA) Park water and sewer design in the amount of $216,770. SPA Park was annexed into the City of Savannah sixteen years ago. The water and sewer infrastructure had previously been operated and maintained by the Chatham County, until the sale of park’s water and sewer facilities on May 6, 2010 to the City. On June 4, 2013, the transfer of the system was completed. The water system improvements will ensure that fire flow requirements are met for the businesses within, and adjacent to the airport industrial park. The sewer relocation is necessary to shorten its length, and avoid inaccessible areas (wetlands, Air National Guard ammo dump). This contract was originally approved by Council on August 8, 2011 in the amount of $268,800. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment is, $485,570.
