During the fiscal year, supplemental budget adjustments are necessary to maintain the adopted legal level of control set forth in the 2017 Budget Ordinance. These supplemental budget appropriations may modify expenditures and revenues within any Fund.

This supplemental budget appropriation will:

• Increase budgeted General Fund revenues in the amount of $95,526 in anticipation of additional revenues related to fees approved as part of the 2017 Revenue Ordinance Amendment authorized on March 2, 2017, and recognize funding from closed projects transferred for FY17 appropriation

• Move $250,000 from General Fund contingency funding for Police Initiatives including a Digital Recruiting Campaign and DNA Laboratory Expenses as previously approved by Council

• Authorize position changes for operational efficiency, resulting in the following changes in authorized Full-time Equivalents:

General Fund – Leisure Services +1

Water Sewer Fund – Water +1

Water Sewer Fund – ACM-Utilities -1

WATER SEWER FUND TOTAL CHANGE: 0

• Administrative changes reallocating $1.8 Million budgeted for a General Wage Increase of 2.1% for General Fund employees to the appropriate department budget and moving departmental salary savings to an interdepartmental account. Other funds are also included in this administrative amendment, funding the 2.1% General Wage Increase for employees from each fund’s Interdepartmental Transfer accounts

• Adjust the budget to increase expenditure lines within various operating business units.

The original Fiscal Year 2017 Budget was approved by the City Council on December 22, 2016. This is the first amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Ordinance.
