The City of Savannah proudly recognizes the successful completion of the 12-week Bridge to Success Student Internship Program by 8 students from Savannah State University, Georgia Southern University, Savannah Technical College, and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). As part of the City’s Hire Savannah initiative, this program provides structured, hands-on experiences that allow students to explore municipal government operations while gaining practical skills aligned with their areas of study.

During the program, interns made meaningful contributions across multiple City departments, including:

  1. Police
  2. Fire
  3. Water Resources
  4. Municipal Archives
  5. Planning & Urban Design
  6. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer
  7. Planning & Engineering
  8. City Manager’s Office
Recommendation

Recognize and celebrate the successful completion of the 12-week internship program by students. Acknowledge the contributions of program participants and participating City departments and encourage continued engagement and future participation to strengthen the pipeline of local, diverse talent.

Program Details & Importance:
The Bridge to Success Internship Program ran from January 2026 through April 2026, providing structured, practical experiences for 8 interns across multiple City departments. Recognition of the interns at this time highlights their accomplishments, celebrates their contributions to City operations, and reinforces Savannah’s commitment to:
