Recommend approval to purchase seven marked police pickup trucks, one marked police cargo van, and one small transit cargo van from Wade Ford in the amount of $272,248.30. The Fleet Services Department will use these vehicles to replace police units that are no longer economical to maintain and repair. The vehicles will be used by the Savannah Police Department for routine law enforcement services.

Per Section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a state contract. 

Three contracts that were competitively bid by the State of Georgia were used for these purchases:

• State of Georgia contract for police pursuit vehicles (Contract # 99999-SPD-ES40199409-003) - expires August 15, 2020
• State of Georgia contract for administrative vehicles (Contract # 99999-SPD-ES40199373-009S) - expires November 30, 2020
• State Of Georgia contract for truck chassis and truck bodies (Contract # 99999-001-SPD0000155) - expires August 31, 2020.
