| Description Water Professionals Appreciation Day is intended to highlight the important role of water industry professionals and local public water agencies in ensuring safe and reliable water, wastewater, and recycled water.
In 2015, Georgia Senate Bill 119 was introduced by Senator Rick Jeffares at the request of GAWP, which was passed, designating the first Monday of May of each year as Water Professionals Appreciation Day, as an official observance recognized in state law. Water Professionals Appreciation Day is intended to highlight the important role of water industry professionals and local public water agencies in ensuring safe and reliable water, wastewater, and recycled water. In 2025, Water Professionals Appreciation day is celebrated on May 5th. | |
