Recommend approval to procure 55 additional Panasonic CF31 Toughbook mobile data terminals (MDTs) from ARC Acquisition, Inc. in the amount of $212,146.55. The MDTs will be installed in replacement police patrol vehicles. Using MDTs, police patrol is able to maintain contact with dispatch, and to collect and input data while in the field.

Bids for this event were originally received on November 29, 2016. Four bids were received for this event; however, only one bidder met the specifications requiring 8GB of RAM and multicarrier cards. Council approved the original award of 35 MDTs on January 5, 2017 in the amount of $56,908.25. Per the original specifications of this event, the City reserved the right to order additional units in 2017. The vendor has agreed to hold its original pricing.
