Title
38. Motion to Adopt a Resolution Approving the New Savannah Arena Exterior Architectural Design
Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

The City of Savannah is building a 215,000-square-foot, 9,500-seat arena located on Stiles Avenue north of Gwinnett Street. City Council has worked with Arena architect Perkins and Will to develop an architectural design (attached) that maximizes natural light through large glass facades, and includes towers flanking the entrance topped by glass lanterns that illuminate at night. The building façade is a combination of masonry, stone, metal panel and glass that recalls Savannah’s great architecture while creating a new civic landmark.

Adoption of this resolution would express City Council's support of this exterior architectural design, and authorize the City Manager to move forward to complete the design of the project through construction documents.
