18. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for a Fuel Monitoring System with MECO of Savannah, Inc. (Local) in the Amount of $38,157. System will Serve Approx. 38 Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles Dispatching from the Interim Sanitation Headquarters at 1809 West Highway 80. Facility will be Used by Various Departments During the Design and Construction of the Permanent Facility on Dean Forest Road.

Description

Recommend approval to procure a fuel monitoring system from MECO of Savannah, Inc. in the amount of $38,157. 

The FuelMaster fuel monitoring system will be used at the Interim Location for Sanitation at 1809 West Highway 80, Garden City, GA.  The City of Savannah purchased the previous Waste Management facility in 2019.  This facility, originally constructed in 1996, is planned to be renovated to serve as the City of Savannah’s Sanitation Interim Headquarters. The tanks will hold approximately 10,000 gallons of diesel fuel, and service 38 vehicles (Sanitations Hauling Operations) that will dispatch from the location.  The project shall meet all federal, state and local codes and ordinances.

This procurement will be made through a cooperative purchasing agreement (Contract No. 022217-SYS, expires June 1, 2022) with Sourcewell. Cooperative purchasing is authorized as an appropriate procurement method in Division 10, Section 4-4152 of the City of Savannah’s purchasing ordinance.
