Title
21. Motion to Approve Reimbursable Memorandum of Agreement (RMOA) with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).
Strategic Priority
Good Government
Description

The Savannah Airport Commission recommends approval of a reimbursable memorandum of agreement (RMOA) with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) in the amount of $337,442.00 for data and communications equipment costs associated with the Jumbo GA FIS facility.

Customs and Border Patrol requires certain data and communications equipment to efficiently operate out of the new facility and provide the Airport with adequate personnel for handling passengers. For the Customs and Border Patrol team to achieve this level of service, equipment such as computers, monitors, printers, communication devices, and miscellaneous ancillary equipment are required for the offices and staff. In addition to the upfront equipment costs, there is also a recurring annual cost of $18,000 for Verizon data and communication lines, which will be used by Customs and Border Patrol.

The purchase of this equipment was originally agreed to as part of the plan to have Customs and Border Patrol available for processing international general aviation and future commercial air traffic.
