As part of this year’s partnership, Broughton Street Partners will commit $75,000 to assist with the holiday celebration to include the holiday tree lighting event scheduled for Friday, November 24 and subsequent holiday activities on Saturday, November 25.

The tree will be placed on Bull Street just north of Broughton Street from Tuesday, November 21 through Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

The holiday tree will complement additional holiday decorating activities to include the installation of:

  • Garland and red bows on the lamp posts on Broughton Street from Montgomery Street to Lincoln Street;
  • Festoon lighting above Broughton Street from Barnard Street to Abercorn Street;
  • A suspended and lit holiday wreath on the front of City Hall;
  • Red bows with gold trim on the lamp posts along the north side of Bay Street and Rousakis Plaza;
  • Garland and red bows on the lamp posts in Ellis Square;
  • A holiday display under the Hyatt Hotel along River Street; and
  • Garland and red bows in the residential squares throughout downtown.

The City will also be partnering with Visit Savannah to design, fabricate, install and remove holiday banners along Bay, Broughton and MLK.

This item will require a budget amendment to provide funding, and will be included in the forthcoming Third Quarter Amendment.
