Description

This City-owned property located on Pumpkin Hill Road (PIN 2-1016 02-052) is a 26.50-acre, unimproved, predominantly wetland parcel. Located at the northern edge of the City of Savannah, it lies directly east of the Highlands neighborhood on the border of Port Wentworth.

Chatham County intends to construct an extension to Benton Boulevard. To facilitate this project, the County has requested from the City a small portion of this parcel be donated to the County. As planned, the County requires a 0.074-acre, 294.75-linear-foot portion of the parent parcel. Upon completion, the Benton Boulevard Extension Project would serve to enhance traffic flow for residents of the area.

The request was sent for review and approved by Public Works and Water Resources, Developmental Services, Planning and Urban Design, Sanitation, Greenscapes, Savannah Fire, Savannah Police, and the Real Estate Services Department.

2017 Chatham County Board of Assessors has assessed the parent tract land value at $66,300.00. The requested donation area is 0.074 acres of a 26.50-acre parent tract and represents a nominal value.
