Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for repairs and renovations at the Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) Office at 110 East State Street in the amount of $21,317.53 with Johnson Laux Construction.

The original contract for this project involved repairing water damage caused by leaks from the garage deck above the facility and included a renovation to interior offices and the chamber.  The work included replacement of all flooring and ceiling tiles, and painting of all walls, trim and doors in office areas.  The work also included the installation of new flooring, and replacement of wood trim accents and upgrading of all electrical and audio/video equipment in the chamber.

This Modification is a summary change order needed due to the reconfiguring and removal of select walls to comply with fire safety code, replacement of counter tops, refinishing of desks in the chamber and the replacement of carpeting.

The original contract was approved by City Council on August 15th, 2019 in the amount of $324,212.22.  The total contract amount to date including this modification is $345,529.75.
