Description

Recommend approval of a contract modification for One-Ton Chlorine Cylinders from JCI Jones Chemicals (1433 Talleyrand Ave, Jacksonville, FL)(D) in the amount of $18,180.

The vendor has requested a price increase due to increased cost of raw material. The price of the one-ton chlorine cylinders is increasing from $490./ton to $660./ton. The chlorine will be used for disinfecting water and wastewater effluent by the Industrial and Domestic Water Plant. The Industrial and Domestic Water Plant has been providing safe water with chlorine since 1947. The I & D Plant sold 13.65 billion gallons of water in 2020.

This contract was originally renewed by Council on February 25, 2021 in the amount of $112,500. The contract amount to date including this modification is $130,680. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
