Description

Recommend approval of a contract for replacement flooring at 5515 Abercorn Streeet to Culver Rug Company, Inc.(Local) in the amount of $36,498.

The City-owned facility located at 5515 Abercorn Street was recently vacated when staff occupying the facility were relocated to the new Floyd Adams Jr. Municipal Complex. The +/- 12,000 square foot building is being repurposed to temporarily house some staff vacating the leased building located at 1375 Chatham Parkway (the former Savannah Morning News Building). The Abercorn facility is not big enough, in and of itself, to accommodate all staff vacating the Chatham Parkway Facility, but will be used to accommodate Human Resources, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Housing Services Departments. Staff is preparing the building to receive the new tenants, and has replaced ceiling tiles, improved lighting, painted the walls, and will be installing new carpet. The Purchasing Department issued Event #8778 to solicit bids from carpet installation contractors. One bid was received by Culver Rug Company - a local Savannah Company. The bid amount is $36,498. Recommend acceptance of this bid and award to Culver Rug Company.

Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days. The bidders were:
