Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 2 to Collins Construction Services, Inc. in the amount of a reduction of $3,359.39.

The original contract was for the construction of the Savannah Fire Training Facility. This modification is for the unused amount of charges specified by Contract Modification No. 1, which allocated charges for the removal and disposal of unsuitable soil and for a proposed new sewer line. However, a reduced extent of new sewer line was needed because a portion of the existing line was able to be used. Additionally, the entire amount allocated for the disposal and replacement of unsuitable soil was also not used. The reduction includes a reimbursement for locker modifications, charges for gas and electricity, and charges for re-testing non-complying installations, and inspection cancellations. This project is now complete.  

The original contract was approved by Council on October 29, 2015 in the amount of $1,480,000.00. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $1,562,866.61. The second low bidder was John E. Lavender & Associates, Inc., in the amount of $1,737,000.00.
