Savannah Fire Rescue has been awarded with a FY 2018 Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency subgrant in the amount of $52,990.00.

The grant is intended to help build and enhance capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Strategic Plan.

The grant will run through November 30, 2019. It will be used to purchase:

• thermal imaging camera
• search camera
• technical rescue helmets
• surface water dry suits
• fins and personal floatation devices
• multi-sensor meters
• equipment maintenance
