Description

The Coastal Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is recommending approval to modify the PY2019 WIOA Ross-IES Youth Services Sub-award for Chatham county to include increased funding in the amount of $26,500 to provide additional services to Jobs for Georgia’s Graduates (JGG) out-of-school participants. The additional services include: taking college tours, attending the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) National Conference, and providing support services.

On August 29, 2019, the City Council accepted the WIOA Youth Program grant funds to provide year round services to low-income youth between the ages of 16 and 24 for the ten-county region: Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven counties.

Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region, and as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures.
