63. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Savannah Development and Renewal Authority (SDRA)

Description

During the Council Workshop on August 15, 2019, the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority (SDRA) outlined the role of organization and their relationship.  They also discussed the returning of remaining SDRA funds to the City to support the: 

  • Creation of design standards to implement a complete streets policy;
  • Development a detailed master plan and development code for the Civic Center site; and
  • Utilization of any remaining funds for the Habersham Street bike lane enhancements, street tree pilot or other projects as recommended by SDRA's Board of Directors.

SDRA would serve in an advisory capacity on these projects.  Additionally, a portion of the funds would remain with SDRA to support education and outreach efforts as well as operational expenses associated with Board operations.

The Memorandum of Understanding formalizes this relationship between SDRA and the City.
