In response, a local tour provider, Shannon Scott Tours, organized an online fundraising campaign to raise funds for the cleaning and restoration of the Silence Statue. Shannon Scott Tours presented the donation to the Bonaventure Historical Society with the intent to pass the proceeds to the City of Savannah. The Bonaventure Historical Society wishes to present the donation to the City of Savannah, which will then be used to cover expenses related to the removal of graffiti and the repair of damages to the Silence Statue.
