| Description Recommended approval. Acceptance of the subgrant award in the amount of $772,349 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). As a recipient of this grant the Savannah Police Department (SPD) can implement a scaled crisis response protocol and create a Behavioral Health Response Team (BHRT) consisting of behavioral health community partners that will provide layers of opportunities to resolve behavioral crisis calls, connect eligible persons to resources, and reduce the frequency of police contact. SPD applied for this grant in March 2018. This will work toward our strategic goal of reducing Part One crimes in our community. This program will support city crime reduction initiatives. | |
