Title
17. Notification of Emergency Procurement of an Odor Control System from Reynolds Construction (Event No. 7096)
Strategic Priority
Infrastructure
Description

Notification of emergency purchase of an odor control system for President Street Bio-Solids Facility in the amount of $118,449.00.  The nature of the emergency is due to the unanticipated odor resulting from sludge precipitates from the new Bio-Solids program initiated by the City of Savannah.  This is an interim solution to serve until a permanent solution is installed during the first quarter of 2020.  Staff estimates that hauling wet bio-solids to the landfill costs the City $45,000 per month.  This emergency procurement will reduce the amount of wet material required to be hauled to the landfill by 85%, thus saving the city approximately $38,250 per month.
