Motion to Award Procurement of Coban Interview Room Equipment from Coban Technologies, Inc. (Event No. 5112)

Recommend approval to procure Coban interview room equipment from Coban Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $28,145.00.

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department currently uses the Coban Digital Video Management system for its in-car video system. This system automatically uploads and secures video files based on officer information and case ID and has proved to be a successful solution for video management and retrieval. This purchase is an expansion of this solution and will leverage the existing Coban system to extend its use to interview rooms. The first implementation will be in the new Whitefield Precinct. This will begin to consolidate video management to move toward a centralized solution for retrieval and case management. This is a sole source purchase because it is an expansion to the system and is only available from this source.

The City will be fully reimbursed for this purchase by Chatham County. Chatham County is responsible for funding the construction and outfitting (furniture and equipment) of the Whitefield Precinct. The City IT department will be responsible for on-going maintenance and support of this equipment. The equipment is being purchased by the City so the warranty and contract information will be consistent with other City supported equipment.
