7. Motion to Declare Property Located at 601 E 66th Street as Surplus and Available for Sale

The City-owned property located at 601 East 66th Street (PIN 2-0113-03-013) is currently improved with a 12,910 square foot, two-story office building with parking lot. The site itself is due west of Paulsen Street between 66th and 67th Streets and sits upon approximately 0.72 acres measuring 300 feet by 105 feet. The property was purchased by the City in 2010 for administrative use at a price of $1,700,000.  The building underwent significant renovation after purchase by the City.  The building is currently under utilized.

Located in the popular Medical Arts district, staff recommends declaring the property surplus and available for sale.  

If declared surplus and available for sale, staff will prepare and issue a request for proposals (RFP) soliciting a buyer for the property. Proposals will be evaluated by an interdisciplinary committee of staff, and a recommendation of the highest responsible bidder will be made to City Council for award.
