Recommend approval for the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Trustees’ Garden Club, Inc. for the creation of a Master Plan for Forsyth Park.  The Master Plan will include implementation guidance, act as a policy tool, and provide a platform for any potential future fundraising efforts as well as establishing a vision for Forsyth Park for decades to come.  Since 2016, the City of Savannah has been working with the Trustees’ Garden Club, Inc. on this multiyear legacy project which includes Overarching Values and Guidelines for Treatment of Forsyth Park completed in 2019, a Cultural Landscape Report to be completed in Mid 2019, and the proposed Master Plan.

The Master Plan will be created in partnership with the City and all districts therein as well as with input from key stakeholders.  Upon completion, it will be gifted to the City by the Trustees’ Garden Club, Inc. and if adopted, all future projects within Forsyth Park will be considered in context with this Master Plan.
