Description

Recommend approval to procure an emergency stand-by backup pump for Lift Station No. 35 from Xylem Dewatering Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $141,698.83. The Conveyance and Water Distribution Division of Public Works and Water Resources will use the backup pump to provide lift stations with sanitary sewer service and station operations when station pumps are down. Backup pumps are crucial to emergency standby operations to avoid sewer backups in homes and businesses and to avoid sewer spills into state waterways. Lift Station No. 35 serves a large portion of the City’s southside region in the Windsor Forest area. 

This procurement was made through a cooperative agreement with GSA. Cooperative purchasing is authorized as an appropriate procurement method in Division 10 Section 4-4152 of the CIty of Savannah's purchasing ordinance.
