Motion to Approve Structural Engineering Contract Amendment to Collins Engineering, Inc. (Event No. 3460)
Description

Recommend approval of Amendment No. 1 to the structural engineering services annual contract with Collins Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $262,000.00.

The original contract was for assessment services for existing City facility condition and capacity. This contract also includes assessments of critical City facilities for emergency management use. This amendment is needed to provide funding for services arising from additional work related to Hurricane Matthew recovery efforts. The increase of $262,000.00 will cover the following scope of work:

  • Development of scopes of work and cost estimates related to facilities damaged by Hurricane Matthew - $106,000.00
  • Design of replacement bridges located at Bacon Park Golf Course, which were damaged during Hurricane Matthew - $50,000.00
  • Structural assessment of six critical water and sewer plants - $36,000.00
  • Miscellaneous other projects - $70,000.00

The original contract was approved by Council on September 29, 2016 in the amount $28,925.00. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $290,925.00.

Recommend approval of Amendment No. 1 to Collins Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $262,000.00.
