Title
26. Motion to Adopt a Resolution Limiting Delegation Authority of Contracts
Strategic Priority
Good Government
Description

Section 3-110 of the City Charter vests authority and power to make and execute contracts in the City Manager.  Section 3-108(9) of the City Charter provides that the City Manager has the right to recommend to Council for its adoption such measures as he or she may deem necessary or expedient.  On February 2, 2017, pursuant to Sections 3-110 and 3-108(9) of the City Charter, the Mayor and Aldermen authorized the City Manager to delegate the authority to make and execute contracts to certain executive level staff.  The Mayor and Aldermen reserved the right to revoke said resolution.

The resolution revokes the previous authorization that permitted the City Manager to delegate authority to make and execute contracts embodied in a Resolution dated February 2, 2017.  As of the date of this Resolution, no City employee, apart from the City Manager, may make or execute contracts on behalf of the City of Savannah.
