The Georgia Department of Transportation has revised the master List of Roadways for the City of Savannah to reflect a reduction in speed limit along Whitaker and Drayton Streets. Changes to the master list are required to be adopted by City Council in order for the permit to be finalized by GDOT and the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Adoption of the List of Roads allows the Savannah Police Department the use of RADAR and LIDAR to enforce posted speed limits on City streets.

A summary of the changes to City Code, Appendix I, Section 208 previously adopted by the Mayor and Aldermen are as follows:

The Mobility Services Department recommends adoption of the revised List of Roads in order to provide for the use of RADAR and LIDAR by the Savannah Metropolitan Police Department in the enforcement of posted speed limits on City Streets. Further recommend that the Mayor be authorized to sign the appropriate documents.
