Description

Recommend approval of a contract for software management and validation codes with Parkeon in the amount of $332,448.

The software management includes two-way wireless connectivity, wireless airtime fees, on-line access to hosted secure server, processing and storage of all transactions, maintenance, alarms, credit card authorization account set-up and management and secure user rights management. Cumulatively, this system controls the 310 multi-space parking meters and 2,500 spaces currently in service. It handles 3,000 to 5,000 transactions per day and integrates with the mobile payment application.

The Validation (Smart) Codes will allow the parking patron to access the validation system and input their code to redeem purchased parking time that is applied to the code. Currently, each code will allow the parking patron to redeem a predetermined amount of time at each use. These codes can also be reloaded with purchased time. There are currently several hundred smart codes active in the system used by workers and businesses.

The Multi-space meters will continue to allow parkers the capability to maximize their payment options to use coins, bills, credit cards, smart codes and the mobile parking app as methods of payment.

This is a solesource purchase because Parkeon is the only provider of the meters and software that are currently used throughout the City.

S.S. Parkeon (Moorestown, NJ)(D) $332,448

A pre-bid conference was not conducted as this is a sole source purchase. (D) Indicates a non-local, non-minority owned business.
